▪️Cavities refer to damaged areas in the hard surface of our teeth that gradually develop into holes that are painful and destroy the teeth.
▪️It is shown by black staining and holes,tooth sensitivity, pain when eating and common toothaches.
▪️Cavities are majorly caused by too much sugary foods/drinks, bacteria existing in the mouth, lack of cleaning teeth well, and after meals.
▪️Plaque is the coating on the teeth which is caused by eating too much sugars and starch and not cleaning the teeth well. The sugars are a feeding and breeding place for bacteria in the mouth. With time, plaque hardens and becomes hard to remove, and this becomes their good habitat.
▪️It is important to take time in cleaning teeth, especially the back teeth, because of the contours that might hide food particles, avoid sugary foods and brush your teeth after meals. Salt gaggles, Activated Charcoal incorporated in paste really helps to kill the harmful bacteria causing damage- it also whitens the teeth if used consistently.
ℹ️💡 BAD BREATH
▪️ Paramount care should be taken for your teeth. Careless mouth hygiene eventually leads to bad breath due to bacterial action. This should be avoided at all costs since it causes a lot of uncomfortability to yourself and others around you.
💡Some of the things to consider are;
📍Brushing your teeth at least twice a day, and after meals
📍Brushing your tongue regularly to avoid bacterial build-up. Bacteria love to hide on the skin of the tongue. Food remains may also stick on the surface of the tongue hence causing a bad breath after they are acted upon by bacteria.
📍Hydrate thoroughly- this helps in production of saliva that moisturises and cleanses the mouth. Definitely your mouth will give a bad smell if it's not hydrated enough.
📍Avoid all sorts of sugary foods. They get stuck between the teeth and eventually rot and cause your mouth to smell.
•••Also, things like garlic and onion can sustain a certain smell that can make you uncomfortable to talk where people are hence need to get rid of the smell.
📍You can try flossing your teach to remove the food particles which are hiding in between teeth.
📍Check up for other major diseases in different body parts like GERD , Diabetes, Sinus problems, Tonsils and other infections.
